There are two basic types of privacy fence with limitless
variations on each
The first is the "solid" fence. Since the solid fence is
built with no space between the pickets it will afford total privacy
It's construction dictates that each section will have a "good" side and
a "bad" side and you should check with local officials to see which way
the fence should face
You can customize your fence by having us point the top of
each picket (williamsburg, dogeared, cavalier, etc.), cut a scallop on the top
of the section (concave, convex, etc.), or a combination of the two
The second kind of privacy fence is known as board on board.
The pickets on these fences are nailed on alternate sides of the backing
rail creating a barrier that is identical on both sides
It can be built with spacing that qualifies it as a "pool code" fence
As with the solid fence, picket design and scalloping are available
